Renew Australia and Alice Springs Town Council are working together to activate Alice Springs (Mparntwe) . We’re bringing artists, makers, and creators right to the heart of town, transforming empty shops into vibrant hubs.
The ‘Renew Alice Springs’ project will utilise Renew Australia’s proven methodology to activate empty shops on Todd Mall.
Renew projects are designed to rejuvenate areas experiencing commercial vacancy through increasing foot traffic and activity, whilst supporting local creative and entrepreneurial communities. Through the activation of space and bringing new local ideas and businesses to visible shopfronts, the project aims to support existing traders by drawing people back into the area via events, workshops, exhibitions and classes.
Property is borrowed on a rent-free basis via a 30-day rolling licence and offered to a program participant who complements, not competes, with existing businesses in the area.
