Renew Projects: Renew On Q – Campbelltown City Council

Activating Campbelltown’s Vacant Spaces

Campbelltown City Council is delivering the next stage of Renew on Q as an Affiliate Member of Renew Australia, continuing the successful activation of vacant spaces in and around Queen Street with creative ideas and enterprises.

About the Project
Renew on Q is based on Renew Australia’s proven methodology of borrowing otherwise empty commercial spaces and making them available to local creatives, entrepreneurs, and community groups. This new iteration of the program will be run internally by Council, with a dedicated staff member as the local contact point for participants and property owners.

Spaces are offered rent-free on a 30-day rolling licence to participants whose activities complement — rather than compete with — existing local businesses.

Why It Matters
Renew on Q is designed to breathe new life into areas affected by vacancy. By activating shopfronts with new ideas and ventures, the project increases activity, draws more foot traffic, and supports existing traders. From exhibitions and workshops to innovative start-ups and creative enterprises, Renew on Q helps bring energy back into Campbelltown’s CBD.

Get Involved
For creatives, entrepreneurs and community groups: Expressions of Interest remain open throughout the project. If you’re looking for space to test your ideas, Council would love to hear from you.
For property owners and agents: If you have a vacant or underutilised space in the area, please contact Campbelltown City Council to find out how you can be part of Renew on Q.

For any enquiries, please contact the Renew On Q project team via email – SocialOutcomesandPlace@campbelltown.nsw.gov.au
