Renew Australia has been engaged by Banyule City Council to deliver the Vacant Shopfront Activation Project, helping transform empty shopfronts into more attractive and welcoming streetscapes. The project aims to improve the appearance of vacant spaces, add vibrancy to local centres and help deter vandalism. Each installation will also incorporate clear “For Lease” information to support leasing outcomes for property owners and agents.
In line with Renew Australia’s mission to create meaningful opportunities for artists and creatives, a local emerging artist with a connection to the Banyule area will be commissioned to feature their work across the decal campaign. This is an opportunity to showcase local creativity at scale while celebrating the area’s next generation of artists.
Each installation will include an artist profile panel highlighting their story, creative practice and inspiration drawn from Banyule, thoughtfully integrated alongside leasing information and project branding.
