Renew Projects: Renew Wollongong

Renew Australia has launched a new program in Wollongong to bring life into empty commercial spaces. Renew Wollongong will work with creative business enterprises and property owners in the Crown Street Mall Precinct to enhance vibrancy and introduce new ideas and experiences.

Renew Wollongong is looking for more vacant commercial properties to be activated. We have more than 40 expressions of interest and have a variety of creative projects, businesses and social enterprises looking to trial their idea in a commercial space.

If you have an empty commercial space in Wollongong CBD please contact Renew Wollongong Project Manager Alice Henchion on

If you have a creative project you would like to trial, please submit your expression of interest.

Renew Wollongong is funded by Wollongong City Council.

The Renew Wollongong initiative is an incredible opportunity. It has given me the chance to share my work with the community and bring to life an idea that has been floating around my head for quite some time.

Being part of the Renew Wollongong program has been an extremely rewarding journey. I have had a very positive experience with the Renew team and the real estate agent involved. They have supported me every step of the way, providing advice assistance and encouragement at every stage. With belonging being a major influence on my art it has been rewarding for me to feel welcomed and supported from the start.

Renew is a fantastic opportunity to challenge the way we occupy space in the city. It is building relationships based on mutual benefit between the people who own property and the people who want to use it. This has given us access to a space to try new ways of collaborating and providing new services that the Wollongong community needs.
